Shah Rukh Khan To Romance Pakistani Actress Mahira Khan In Raees

If the latest buss is to be believed, then Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is all set for her Bollywood debut.

Mahira Khan, the Pakistani actress made her film debut opposite singer-actor Atif Aslam in Shoaib Mansoor‘s 2011 social drama, Bol.
Producer Ritesh Sidhwani tweeted the final cast of upcoming film Raees, naming Mahira as the leading lady. Raees stars Shah Rukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. The movie is expected to be shot in the interiors of Gujarat.
Mahira will play Shah Rukh Khan’s wife in the film. SRK plays a gangster based in Gujarat while Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the cop who traps him in Mumbai.

Reportedly, Sonam Kapoor and Kirti Sanon were said to be doing the film but Rahul‘s tweet puts all speculations to rest.

Director of the film Rahul Dholakia tweeted, “Both nervous and excited to be working with 2 extremely versatile, brilliant and diverse actors in #raees – @iamsrk @Nawazuddin_S. Lethal !”
Sidhwani wrote, “Our leading lady in #Raees @themahirakhan @iamsrk @rahuldholakia @FarOutAkhtar”
Mahira Khan first made news in India with her TV show ‘Humsafar’ where she portrayed the role of a simple yet strong girl ‘Khirad’ opposite Fawad Khan. The show became an instant hit and the lead pair of the show – Mahira and Fawad – overnight stars.
Raees directed by Rahul Dholakia, stars Shah Rukh Khan, Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui and goes on floors in February 2015.
